Intensive Study Program
These are an in-depth study program of the 18 ACI courses compiled by Geshe Michael Roach. These courses form a very comprehensive program that covers all the basic study material that a Geshe (Doctor of Philosophy) learns in a Tibetan Buddhist monastery, taking them 18 years of serious study. Obtaining a Geshe degree from a Tibetan Monastery requires studying The Six Great Books of Buddhism which are:

~The Perfection of Wisdom (Prajna Paramita)
~The Middle Way (Madhyamika)
~Higher Knowledge (Abhidharma)
~Vowed Morality (Vinaya)
~Logic (Pramana)
~The Steps to Buddhism (Lam Rim)

The ACI Study Program condenses the essence of these Six Great Books of Buddhism into a series of short courses. Geshe Michael Roach has created this Study Program in such a way that it is readily accessible to all students and can easily be passed on to others, thus preserving the unbroken 2500 year lineage of these teachings. Each course is ten weekly classes of two and a half hours each and includes readings, homeworks and short quizes. It is important to commit to all the classes to gain the most benefit. Children are welcome to attend the courses as long as they can maintain interest.

Doing the ACI Courses by Correspondence
You can study the ACI courses via correspondence using audio tapes and other learning resources. When enrolling in a correspondence course at the Diamond Cutter Buddhist Study centre, you are assigned a "Buddy Student" who has previously completed the course. If you have any questions regarding the course material, or how to put the teachings into practice you'll be able to contact your ‘Buddy Student’ for guidance. Please contact us if you're interested in enrolling in the correspondence program.

Meditation Retreats
Each term we offer an opportunity to spend a weekend immersing yourself into your study and practice. This is a great time to be with other practitioners to deepen your realisations and insights. Usually different meditation practices are taught in more detail and with more time to focus and integrate the teachings.

Puja and Karma Purification
This is an opportunity to experience the richness of ceremony, ritual and the symbolism of Tibetan Buddhism. These practices help to purify past deeds with a good intent and to make offerings to the Three Jewels.

Study Texts
The Asian Classics Institute which is under the larger body of the Mahayana Sutra and Tantra Press has published a collection of books on Tibetan Buddhism. These books are also available at the Diamond Cutter Buddhist Study Centre.

Fun-Raising Events and Offerings to the Three Jewels
We are a non-profit organization that relies on the kindness and support of volunteers. To celebrate the work of everyone who is part of a Dharma Centre we have fun-raising events to create offerings to the Three Jewels – Our Centre, that we may serve others with these precious Teachings.

Diamond Mountain University Comes to Australia
is a project designed to bring the Diamond Mountain course syllabus to Australia. Dedicated students and teachers will come together twice a year to study and teach the Diamond Mountain courses at the Thunderbolt Retreat Centre near Armidale in country NSW.

These courses will be offered over a ten day intensive study experience. There will be two semesters a year in Autumn and Spring.

Each day there will be a regular schedule of yoga, meditation, debate and study. There will also be opportunities to help with building and other projects around the retreat centre.

Our plans for the immediate future is to run a Three Year Retreat in 2010 for students who have completed all the Sutra and Tantra courses.

It is our hope that the University will become a place where students will gather from all over the world to do retreat, study Sutra, Tantra, Language, Dance, Medicine and Yoga, all for the purpose of reaching enlightenment for the benefit of others.
